FREE 8-week Machine Tooling course at El Camino College – a starting point for a potential career in aerospace and advanced manufacturing, which have many good paying jobs! Part of the Propel LA-funded Community Progress Makers (CPM) program will include soft skills training provided by the South Bay Workforce Investment Board, as well as job interview referrals upon successful completion of the program. This is a no cost program open to all age groups 18 years and over with the goal to move people from low paying jobs to learning skill sets that will put them in a higher economic scale.
Program participants may include
- Underemployed workers who can arrange their schedules to participate (such as those in hospitality or retail or other minimum wage jobs)
- Disconnected youth
- Ex-offenders
- Individuals who are not in government-funded GAIN or unemployment programs and who may not know about of the job training opportunities at El Camino College
Those who are interested need to please complete the attached referral form (one for each client) and send it to send it to Tiffany Miller at El Camino – [email protected]. I will be checking in with Tiffany periodically to see how this is going. Her contact information is on the referral form.
IF you have those who are not particularly interested in machine tooling, but are open to the idea of another short-term training program that leads to a good paying career field, several other options are included on the referral form.
Please note: For the Propel LA-funded program, participants must be at least 18 years of age.
