Los Angeles Centers for Alcohol and Drug Abuse (LA CADA), Charles Drew University and UCLA Passport to Wellness program has been selected as one of ten finalists for the Helping U Help Your Community Competition. The winner will receive $20,000 to fund their project.
Passport to Wellness is designed to help same gender loving Black men in LA stay HIV negative or discover their HIV status early and obtain the HIV care they need. All participants receive a personalized "Passport" - a booklet with specific activities that address physical, mental, and spiritual health to help them engage in regular HIV/STI testing and prevention services. Incentives are given for accessing those services and a Peer Mentor provides support, guidance, and role modeling.
Please share this with your family and friends! We hope you can help us prevent the spread of HIV in our community!
