Each summer, Parks After Dark (PAD) extends hours of park operation and provides a safe and welcoming space for participants of all ages to engage in a variety of free recreational, educational and entertainment programming. PAD also increases access to much-needed health, social, economic and legal resources in communities that often lack such access. This year, PAD will begin on Thursday, June 14, 2018 and end on Saturday, August 4, 2018. Programming will take place every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
PAD is led by the Department of Parks and Recreation, with strong support from the Board of Supervisors, Chief Executive Office, Department of Mental Health, Department of Public Health, Probation Department, Department of Children and Family Services, Sheriff’s Department, Workforce, Development, Aging and Community Services (WDACS), and many other government agencies and community-based organizations.
