This summer, Teen Line will be launching the Teen Line Ambassadors Program, giving teens across Los Angeles County the opportunity to be trained to become speakers for their Outreach Program.
 
Teen Line's Outreach Program aims to educate youth about the services Teen Line provides and destigmatize mental health issues that affect teens.

Crenshaw Health Fest!

On Saturday June 24, 2017 WeCanStopSTDsLA partnered with the Community Engagement and Sexual Health Ambassadors from L.A. Condom and GetPrEPLA to participate in the Crenshaw Health Fest. This event was hosted by Assemblymember Sebastian Ridley-Thomas and Baldwin Hills Crenshaw to provide free eye exams, health screenings, and giveaways at a fun community event. WeCanStopSTDsLA Project Analyst Asha Moore, Youtuber Elijah King, Esq., and Sexual Health Ambassador Ariel Garcia, engaged participants with games, sexual and reproductive health information, interviews, and of course, candy, condoms, and swag items. Both CAC partners and community members dropped by to visit our awesome table. Check out the photos below to get a glimpse of this amazing event!

Children's Defense Fund Announces New Leader

Children's Defense Fund – California is ecstatic to report that our new executive director, Shimica Gaskins, will be joining us on June 5. Our search for a new leader involved a multiple interview process and engaged staff, board members, national team members and, of course, our fearless founder, Marian Wright Edelman. In short, we were seeking a brave leader to serve CDF-CA externally and internally, and we ultimately are excited for Shimica to be that leader.
