The Making Connections Network of Community Intelligence will host events from December 2017 through October 2019.

Through our Working to Institutionalize Sexuality Education (WISE) project, Cardea provides support to school districts in the implementation of comprehensive sexual health education that is in compliance with the California Healthy Youth Act. Cardea’s WISE projects currently partners with local County Offices of Education to support school districts in Alameda, Contra Costa,  Los Angeles, San Mateo, Santa Clara and Santa Cruz and offers assistance to Orange County Office of Education.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have released the 2016 STD Surveillance Report, showing that STDs are at a “record high” and demonstrating the great need for our work.

The Community Embedded Disease Intervention Specialist (CEDIS) provides partner services including counseling, partner elicitation, notification and other follow-up activities for STD-positive clients in Los Angeles County.  The CEDIS also cultivates, enhances and maintains a cooperative and effective relationship with health care partners. This position is located in Los Angeles.

Call for Abstracts

The Southern California Sexual Health Collaborative is pleased to announce that the 9th annual Southern California Sexual Health Summit will take place in Los Angeles on Tuesday, February 13, 2018. This year we are very excited to partner with Keeping it Real Together, a multi-agency collaborative that works to improve sexual health for Los Angeles County youth.

We are excited to share information about a new study being conducted by Dr. Natalie Ramos, Dr. Jeanne Miranda, Liz Olen, and Dr. Brandon Ito from UCLA to support resilience in LBGTQ+ teens.

Children's Hospital Los Angeles will host a focus group to learn what kinds of research Black, Latina, and mixed race trans women want to see in the community. Food will be served and participants will be compensated. See the flyer for more information."
