Join us for this interactive training workshop featuring Nourbese Flint of Black Women for Wellness and Ryan Murphy, MPH, PhD of the Research and Innovation Unit, Division of HIV & STD Programs, LA County Department of Public Health. They will share information regarding LA County’s latest data on the continually rising rates of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) among African American and Latina/o (Latinx) young people. We will explore how WeCanStopSTDsLA and its partners are mobilizing to combat this epidemic in South Los Angeles.
Upon completion of the training, attendees will know more about:
- The latest public health data on the types, rates and cases of STIs among youth and young adults in South LA (see the infographic on the WeCanStopSTDsLA.org homepage)
- What WeCanStopSTDsLA is doing to leverage community-level systems and practice changes
- The policy efforts of local coalitions and groups working on sexual and reproductive health and justice matters
Be sure to register and RSVP early as we can only accommodate a set number of attendees at this venue.
Free parking is available on-site. Please notify the parking attendant that you are attending a meeting in Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas' office.
