Confused about when to get tested?

With so many messages telling you to get tested for STDs, it can be confusing to know exactly when you should get checked out, especially if you don’t have any symptoms.

If you are sexually active, the general rule of thumb is that you should get an STD test every year. This is for everyone, even if you have a boyfriend or girlfriend! You should also get tested if:

  • You have unprotected sex
  • You have sex with someone new
  • Your partner has sex with someone new
  • You have any itching, bumps, or rashes on your genital area.

You can get your STD test for free or for a very small fee. Find a clinic near you for your next STD test!

You can also take this quiz to see if you should get tested. When it doubt, get checked out!
