House Committee Advances Bill that Eliminates Title X

Yesterday, the House Appropriations Committee passed the fiscal year (FY) 2018 appropriations bill for the Departments of Labor, Health and Human Services, Education and Related agencies.

The bill includes the elimination of Title X and bars discretionary funding to Planned Parenthood. Funding for the Teen Pregnancy Prevention program was also eliminated. Learn more about Title X from Essential Access Health.

The full House could consider the bill after the August recess. The House may decide instead to move forward with an omnibus measure that would include this bill and other appropriations bills as one package.
